ITS NOT SLOW AS MOLASSES.....IT'S A FAST COOL VINTAGE COLLECTOR CAN! See below.......... This is a vintage used One Gallon Golden Rule brand Extra Fancy Molasses Tin Can from the well known and highly desirable Citizen's Wholesale Supply Company in Columbus, Ohio. Imported from Barbadoes, it contains no added sulphur! It is printed in two tone rich buttercream yellow and chocolate brown colors on a steel upright rectangular can with rounded edges measuring 10" tall x 6" wide x 4" deep. Both front and rear facings are printed with identical advertising as shown yet two different side facing panel ads, Right Panel proclaims their guarantee and Left Panel describes comparison to New Orleans Molasses. Minimal scratching damage to surface/overall very crisp and clear. A dent or ding here & there as well. The top and bottom undecorated surfaces have light rust expected of a vintage can of this age and the cap is missing, I think, a modern metal screw cap from similar paint or automotive product can might fit. There is a slight dent to lower right side of can as shown in picture. Overall, the Golden Rule Company has been in the spice trade business since late 19th century times using the famous shield logo and later branched out into other food products. These tins are scarce to find and even in the 1980's one could only find them in Ohio and Western NY State, but now, they
are hardly ever seen. Great tin for Country Store collectors, movie sets, or advertising buffs..........bid today, where else have you seen another one? Especially one in this condition!
