Antique Meriden Silver Plate Aesthetic Ice Water Pitcher Wine Toasting Putti Boy

Beautiful
antique large silverplate ice water, lemonade or coffee pot.  It is a wonderful example of Aesthetic Movement design.  It features two bands of embossed flowers, peacocks, urns and more.  Each side has an Aesthetic geometric and floral pattern with a banner for engraving.  This pot has the initials L.R.S. engraved on one side.  There are tons of scroll patterns throughout.  The pièce de résistance is the finial at the top the little naked putti boy with a wine goblet raised as if to say "Cheers!"  The piece has a double wall to insulate it's contents.  There is a style number 403 stamped into the bottom.  Research indicates it was made by Meriden Britannia of Meriden, CT., ca. 1870's to the 1880's.
The pot measures 12" tall to the top of the finial.  It is 7-1/8" in diameter at the base and is approximately 10-1/2" from handle to spout.
It is in very good condition considering the age.  There are two significant dents on either side.  The worst one is on the side that does not have the monogram just to the side of the banner.  The other one is on the other side just to the right of the spout.  You can expect to find other scratches or scuffs as well as some really stubborn tarnish.  It still displays beautifully as you can see by the photos.
