Description
Antique Reed & Barton Hot Water Urn or Coffee Urn, Medallion Head profile of a bearded man in a helmet, 4 legs with lion head and claw feet, engraved floral frieze around the center of the urn, double handles, silver plate, c1880, marked on base “2344 2” Engraved on the inside of the lid and on the base “41x5” Monogram with initials “EMC” Size: 14” tall x 9” long from handle to handle, urn is 6 ½” wide and inside of urn is 5” deep.Tested recently and does work properly.
Holds approx. 90 oz of water with no leaks.
Missing the fuel holder.
Will need polishing by the new owner.

Unusual piece with exquisitely carved and engraved details.
Stands sturdily on its feet (does not rock or tip).
Handles are well attached.
Lid fits securely.
Spigot handle opens smoothly, closes tightly and does work properly.
No signs of leaks when recently filled with water.
Fuel holder is missing and small 1/4" x 3/16 hole in the cradle for the fuel holder.
Dent in the back of the urn approx. 1 1/2” x 3/4”.
Tarnished with heavy patina.
White silver polish residue left in recessed sections.
Minor superficial scratches from normal use.
Stored and unused for at least 44 years.
