Description
Aurora Silver Plated Coffee Tea Pot 1904 Engraved Edwardian Era Antique.Quadruple plated metal coffee pot in a simply beautiful and elegant Edwardian design. The sides of the pot are heavily engraved with ferns and florals. The pot feels solid and substantial in the hand, not light and flimsy. One side has initials, and the other side reads, "1879 May 28th 1904, so my presumption is this was a 25th silver wedding anniversary gift to someone quite special. Manufactured by the Aurora Silver Plate Co., of Aurora, Illinois, in operation from 1869 -- 1919.
Condition: There is zero loss to the metal, which is non-magnetic. The silver plating polishes up like a dream (I recommend Wenol Metal Polish). There are a couple of dents around the widest part of the pot, none of them involve creasing. There is a ding on the pot neck, and a second on the lid. See photos. The feet are sturdy and unbent. The handle and spout are sturdy and unbent. The lid fits properly, and there is no wiggle to the hinge. Just an incredibly well made coffee pot.
Measurements: Approx. 9" tall x 8" long (handle to spout) x 5.5" wide. Shipping weight is 3 lbs.
