    Description

    I was out prospecting for gold when I found this slice of burl wood laying next to an old foundation. This Beautiful Wood Burl slice found in the desert at an old miners camp is absolutely beautiful and really old. I'm not sure what kind of wood it is but am guessing maple from researching online.
    I started with 80 grit sand paper and worked it up to 800 grit to see what the wood pattern underneath looked like. The wood is very dry and after a light coat of vitamin e cuticle oil a beautiful golden color appeared. This burl slice needs to be stabilized but should make some gorgeous handles or inlay crafts. This piece reminds me of opal and should work for several projects. This could be a good candidate for projects with epoxy resins.  Condition is "Used".
