We are offering for your consideration an exquisite, silver plated, five-piece, Tea & Coffee Service bearing the hallmark of the Wallace Silversmiths of Wallingford, Connecticut founded in 1834. This gorgeous service was manufactured in 1960 and is no longer produced. The pattern number is noted as, “9851” and identified as, “ Royal Rose.”
The pieces measure the following”
**Hinged Coffee Pot measures 10 inches high and 9.75 inches wide from handle to spout.
**Hinged Teapot measures 9.50 inches high and 9.50 inches wide from handle to spout.
**Covered Sugar Bowl measures 6 inches high and 6 inches wide between the two handles.
**Creamer measures 5 inches high and 5 inches wide between the handle and spout.
**
Large Butler’s Tray measures 27.50 inches high, and 17.75 inches wide and 2 inches high at rhe upturned handles.
A wonderful service with all the bells and whistles of an elegant set. If you love Roses as I do then this is the perfect set for you. The design has been elegantly applied by hand. The sweeping handles have been decorated with roses set among lush leaves with Acanthus leaves as accents. The spouts resemble stylized birds accented with a rose growing along leaves at the bottom. The flared collar and high domed covers are topped with a single rose amidst a cluster of leaves. The pieces rest upon four, scrolled feet adorned with a single rose and leaves. The creamer has been gilded inside a sign of a well designed piece. If that weren’t enough of this nostalgic flower, the extra large butler’s tray has a cluster of roses and leaves at the beginning of each upturned handle with clusters of roses and leaves around the outer rim connected by scroll work. . The insides are very clean and there are no repairs, dents or major silver wear to note.
The outsides have a mirror like shine and the gold gilt in the creamer is intact. Any dark spots are from background glare. A highly collectible service for the discriminating hostess or host that will add elegance to those special dinners and holiday settings.
