International Silver Sheffield Reproduction Teapot, Composite Handle

Description

This is an International Silver teapot with a composite handle with a low rectangle shape. It has a hinged lid and and gadroon edges.
This measures approximately 12 3/4" long from handle to spout. It is 6" to the top of the handle. It is marked Silverplate on Copper, Sheffield Reproduction with the IS (International Silver) marks and #1028. This has a lovely patina that we have not tried to polish. There are no obvious dents. The copper is slightly showing through on the detailed edge corners. The bottom weld on the handle came unattached. It doesn't affect use or display, in fact we missed it when we first looked at it. Sheffield Reproductions were supposedly based on Old Sheffield Plate designs, and were produced by numerous American silverplate manufacturers. This practice went on thru the 20's-40's but was stopped under pressure because they weren't always based of true Sheffield pieces.
