    Description

    weight: 5 lbs. 3 oz.
size: 12.25” tall, 7” deep, 10.75” wide (includes handles)
This piece is circa late 1800’s, and was likely a hot water or hot tea urn.  It suffered damage at some point, but they tried to repair it because of the extensive engraved design on the sides.  The top rim and highly detailed section below that look cast, but the front and back both have high quality engraved sunflowers and leaves.  The underside says Middletown Plated Quadruple Plate, with 16 above that and 104 below it.  Below the 104 stamp it says Hard White Metal.
I won’t mention the dents and scratches, as there are other issues that are more apparent.
The top of each handle has a little cast flower design, and one of those is pushed down into the handle.  The spigot was removed, and a filler/stopper was welded in place.  One of the feet either was badly damaged or broke off, and was welded back.  That foot has a pad under it, as the feet are now uneven.
Each of the four sides of the base are supposed to have connecting arms between the fan shape and the legs on either side.  On two sides, both arms look like they were burned through, and one side has one arm like that.  Also, t
he middle ring where the burner would sit is now only connected to three of the legs.
