Towle Vintage Silver Plate 9-Piece Tilting Pot Coffee & Tea Service.
This stunning, complete 9-Piece estate set of Towle's c 1980 silver plate tilting hot water kettle on its stand with burner is in very good to excellent condition. The individual pieces are described below, and photographs are provided for each piece. Please note that the set will be insured and shipped via USPS or UPS Ground. The ship-to address will be confirmed and authenticated. The set’s packing will be documented with photos. A delivery signature is required.
The pieces:
Tilt kettle with warming stand set is in excellent condition. The set measures 15” high to the top of the frame’s handle. The pot 10” x 10” pot is intended to pour hot water for tea. The pot is tilted to pour into a cup, and it lifts off its stand. Its burner with new wick (additional wicks are included) is an alcohol warmer. Fill the lamp with denatured or ethyl alcohol (ethyl alcohol, ethanol or ethyl hydrate with an alcohol content of 90% or higher). Isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol with an alcohol content of 90% or higher can also be used. Fill only half-full. DO NOT USE OIL. This is not an oil burner.
The set’s large coffee pot is in very good vintage condition, with light scratches on its surface and some staining in the interior of the 7-cup pot. It measures 11 1/2” tot he top of its finial. It measures 12” x 11”.
The large tea pot is in very good vintage condition, with light scratches on its surface. The tea pot holds 6 1/2 cups of tea, is 10” to the top of its finial, and measures 11” x 11”.
The set’s lidded sugar bowl is in good vintage condition, with very light silver plate discoloration on its body and some scratches, expected with a set of this age. It measures 7” x 7”.
In excellent condition, the set’s creamer measures 5” x 4 1/2”.
And the waste bowl, intended for the deposit of tea bags and discarded lemon slices has a faint dent in its body. It is in very good vintage condition and measures 5” x 4”.
Each piece of this set is comparatively heavy. Cumulatively, the set weighs approximately 18 pounds. Packing and boxing will add to this weight for shipping. Shipped with USPS or UPS Ground.
