Vintage Ellis-Barker Silverplate Elaborate 4 Piece Tea Set &
Huge Benedict and Proctor Butler's Tray.
This exquisite tea and coffee set has a teapot, coffee pot, creamer and open sugar bowl (this might by the waste bowl, but Grandmother always used it as a sugar bowl) made by Ellis-Barker Silver Company. They are hallmarked with the MS inside a shield dating it to 1912-1915. The handles are wood and as you can see, are a little scuffed and the lid handles are lighter from use and washing.
Grandfather engraved his initials and social security number on the bottoms of all the pieces.
The coffee pot is 9-1/2” tall. There are no dents or deep scratches. The teapot is 7-1/2” tall. The handle moves a little as the rivet holes are slightly worn, but it is still secure.
There are no dents or deep scratches. The creamer and sugar bowl are 5” tall and in excellent condition, dirty on the inside.
There is a little copper showing through on the sugar bowl where it’s been polished so much.
The butler’s serving tray is made by Benedict & Proctor and is marked B.P. SHEFFIELD REPRODUCTION ON COPPER 1736 with a genie’s lantern hallmark, circa 1912-1917. It measures 27-1/2” x 16-3/4” and has a pretty engraved center, pierced edge and ornate handles. It weighs 9 pounds 12 ounces and is in excellent condition.
The tray will ship separately from the other pieces.
